Bird-Headed Deity

Tried something different last night and came up with this. Originally was trying to carve her with one arm folded and the other at her side, gripping the base, sitting with legs sort of off to one side, but the form was too far forward to have the knees bent at the right kind of angle so it ended up being a standing/walking position. Not entirely what I wanted to carve. Also had a much longer beak, but it chipped off while being worked. Has kind of an Egyptian regality to it which I was trying to achieve, but not happy with overall form and pose... learned a lot form working on this piece since it was so different.

Carved from birch wood, about 3" high by 1/2" or so diameter. Black details, sanded, and polished to a sheen.
